    Today Norwegian will commence the ticket sales for its long-haul flights to New York and Bangkok from Oslo and Stockholm. The company's first long-haul flight will take place between Oslo and New York on May 30, 2013; the first flight between Oslo and Bangkok is on June 1, 2013.

    Norwegian Air Shuttle will establish a new base of operations at London’s Gatwick Airport in spring 2013. It will also establish a new base of operations at Alicante, Spain. Norwegian will offer flights to several Mediterranean destinations and the Nordic region from London.

    Norwegian (NAS) today reported a pre-tax profit of almost 900 million NOK. This is the company’s best ever result, an improvement of 187 million NOK from previous year. New aircraft have saved the airline 28 million NOK in fuel costs compared to the third quarter in 2011.

The airline competed against major international airlines like Virgin America, Emirates, Oman Air and Gulf Air. The award was presented in Long Beach, California, USA on Monday 17. September.

    Norwegian’s (NAS) passenger growth continued in August. More than 1.7 million passengers flew with Norwegian, up 13 percent compared with the same month last year. The load factor was also high, while Norwegian’s on-time performance was significantly affected by the lack of air traffic controllers at Avinor (Norway’s civil aviation authority).

  • Norwegian Orders Two Additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners

    Norwegian has signed an agreement to lease two additional Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners for its future long-haul operations. The company has previously entered into agreements to purchase three and lease three aircraft of the same type, securing a delivery of a total of eight Dreamliners. The Dreamliner is a plane for the future, with high passenger comfort, low operating costs and reduced emissions.
