    Norwegian renews UNICEF partnership and flies emergency aid to Sierra Leone

    On the same day that Norwegian and UNICEF extend their partnership agreement for four more years, a Norwegian aircraft takes off from Copenhagen bound for Sierra Leone in Africa. Both the luggage compartment and the cabin are fully loaded with emergency aid for children in crisis. The flight is a collaboration between Norwegian and UNICEF.

    Norwegian Armed Forces creates aviation first with biofuels

    The first use of biofuel for the defence sector's business trips with Norwegian was marked at Ålesund Airport Vigra today. Norwegian will blend 15 percent biofuel on over 1 million business trips until 2028. The agreement is the largest of its kind in Norwegian history, and most likely the first in a NATO context.

    Norwegian will set up an extra flight from Tel Aviv to Oslo with tentative departure tonight to fly Norwegian and other Nordic citizens out of Israel. The flight is operated on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The objective is to help passengers that are stranded in Israel.

    Norwegian has announced a landmark partnership with Norsk e-Fuel to build the world’s first full scale e-fuel plant in Mosjøen, Norway. The plant will produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), marking an important milestone towards Norwegian's target of 45 percent emissions reduction by 2030.

    Today, Norwegian’s most important flight of the year is bound for drought-hit Ethiopia. The flight marks the return of Norwegian and UNICEF’s “Fill a Plane” initiative which is now back for the sixth time. This year, Norwegian’s plane is loaded with emergency aid for drought-stricken children that are affected by the region’s worst hunger crisis in 40 years.

The score is made up of results in several categories with Norwegian receiving an overall B-, and is an important acknowledgement of the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
