  • Norwegian Reports Continued Passenger Growth in September

    Norwegian (NAS) carried more than 1.9 million passengers in September, an increase of 17 percent compared to the same month previous year. The company is growing and increasing its capacity by taking delivery of brand new aircraft, establishing new operational bases outside Scandinavia and introducing new routes within Europe and between Scandinavia and the U.S. and Asia.

    Norwegian reports record passenger figures in May. Almost 1.9 million passengers flew with Norwegian in May, which is the highest number of passengers the company has carried in a single month. The total on-time performance was 90.1 percent. With an on-time performance of as much as 94.5 percent, the Helsinki base reports in at first place, closely followed by Bergen and Alicante.

  • Norwegian and Virgin Atlantic with Dreamliner cooperation

    Norwegian Long Haul has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Virgin Atlantic. The agreement enables Norwegian to tap into Virgin Atlantic’s expertise on long-haul operations, while Virgin Atlantic’s instructors will receive pilot training on board Norwegian’s brand new 787-8 Dreamliner. Norwegian’s first Dreamliner is due for delivery at the end of June.

    Norwegian reports strong passenger growth in April, due to the opening of two new bases in England and Spain, and the launch of several new routes. The company carried more than 1.7 million passengers this month, an increase of 364,986 (27 percent) passengers compared to the same period previous year.

  • Norwegian increases long haul fleet to six Dreamliners

    Norwegian has entered into a Letter of Intent to lease a further new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bringing the total number of such aircraft on order to six. The six aircraft are part of Norwegian’s set up for long haul operations.

  • Norwegian orders an additional 15 737-800s from Boeing

    Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has today extended its current aircraft order with Boeing Commercial Airplanes for an additional 15 Boeing 737-800 to be delivered between 2015 and 2018. The total order for purchased aircraft now stands at a total of 78 whereof 19 have been delivered.

  • Norwegian to acquire three new Dreamliners

    Norwegian has signed an agreement for the right to purchase three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. The company has previously entered into an agreement to lease two aircraft of the same type, bringing the total number of such aircraft on order up to five. The Dreamliner is an aircraft for the future, featuring unprecedented passenger comfort, low operating costs and reduced emissions.
