  • 2009 best annual result in Norwegian’s history

    Today, Norwegian presents the best annual result in the company’s history. The net result after tax amounted to 446 MNOK. The last quarter was also the best Q4 ever. During 2009, Norwegian had a strong passenger growth and carried 10.8 million passengers, an increase of 18 per cent compared to the previous year.

  • Norwegian launches direct flights to Helsinki

    Norwegian is strengthening its route network in the Nordic region. For the first time, Norwegian will launch direct flights from Oslo and Stockholm to Helsinki. The new direct flights are part of the strategy to become a strong player in the Nordic market.

  • Norwegian is the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010

    Norwegian has entered into a partnership agreement with the European Broadcasting Union – EBU – to become the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Norwegian will offer competitive low cost fares to Oslo from 27 European countries for the Eurovision Song Contest community during the three shows.

    Norwegian experienced strong passenger growth last year and flew 18 per cent more passengers than the previous year. In total, 63 new routes were established; 30 in Denmark, 18 in Sweden and 15 new routes in Norway.

  • Norwegian launches new frequent flyer program

    Norwegian is today launching an entirely new frequent flyer program which will benefit both leisure and business travellers in all three Scandinavian countries. The frequent flyer program offers all travellers the possibility to earn CashPoints, up to 10 percent on Full flex tickets.

    The total number of passengers flown in August 2009 was 1,007,623 compared to 857,136 last year, an increase of 150,487 passengers (18 %). Compared to the same period last year: - Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 9 % - Total capacity (ASK) increased by 7 % - The load factor was 81 %, up 2 p.p.

    The total number of passengers flown in July 2009 was 1,048,684 compared to 900,983 last year, an increase of 147,701 passengers (16 %).

  • New milestone for Norwegian- exceeded 1 million passengers in July

    The total number of passengers flown in July was just under 1 050 000, an increase of approximately 150 000 passengers or 16 per cent compared to July 2008. July is thus the third consecutive month that Norwegian has witnessed record passenger numbers.

  • The net result improved by MNOK 101 in Q1 2008

    More than 2.1 million passengers chose to travel with Norwegian in the first quarter of 2009 - an increase of close to 108,000 passengers compared to last year. The turnover was BNOK 1.4, an increase of 27 percent. The net result was MNOK -110 which is significantly better than last year. The seasonal variations in the aviation industry always hamper profitability in the first quarter.

  • Norwegian’s 2008 results: 6.2 billion in revenues – 9.2 million passengers

    Oslo/Fornebu 20 February 2009: Norwegian carried 9.2 million passengers in 2008 – an increase of 2.3 million compared to last year. The Group reported revenues of 6.2 billion in 2008 – nearly 50 per cent higher than the year before. In a challenging year with high fuel prices, CEO Bjørn Kjos is pleased with the company’s performance.

  • New Head of Corporate Communications in Norwegian

    Anne-Sissel Skånvik has been appointed Senior Vice President Corporate Communications for Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA. Skånvik will be member of the Group Executive Management team and report to Chief Executive Officer Bjørn Kjos. Skånvik begins her new position 16 February 2009.

    Oslo/Fornebu, 6 February 2009: A total of 648,302 passengers traveled with Norwegian in January, which is an increase of 5 percent compared to the equivalent period last year. The passenger traffic (RPK) for Norwegian.no increased by 20% and for Norwegian.se by 61%.
