  • 25 per cent passenger growth for Norwegian in February

    Norwegian continues the strong passenger growth. 834 884 passengers chose to fly with Norwegian in February, a 25 percent increase from the same period last year. More than 11 million passengers have traveled with the company during the last 12 months.

  • Norwegian launches direct flights to London, Edinburgh and Munich from Stockholm

    Norwegian continues to expand its base in Stockholm and launches direct flights to London/Gatwick, Edinburgh and Munich, three destinations which are appealing to both business and leisure travellers. The new direct flights will increase Norwegians presence in the Swedish market, as the company is adding an eighth aircraft to the Stockholm base.

  • 2009 best annual result in Norwegian’s history

    Today, Norwegian presents the best annual result in the company’s history. The net result after tax amounted to 446 MNOK. The last quarter was also the best Q4 ever. During 2009, Norwegian had a strong passenger growth and carried 10.8 million passengers, an increase of 18 per cent compared to the previous year.

  • Norwegian launches direct flights to Helsinki

    Norwegian is strengthening its route network in the Nordic region. For the first time, Norwegian will launch direct flights from Oslo and Stockholm to Helsinki. The new direct flights are part of the strategy to become a strong player in the Nordic market.

  • Norwegian is the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010

    Norwegian has entered into a partnership agreement with the European Broadcasting Union – EBU – to become the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Norwegian will offer competitive low cost fares to Oslo from 27 European countries for the Eurovision Song Contest community during the three shows.

  • 10.8 million passengers flew with Norwegian in 2009

    Norwegian experienced strong passenger growth last year and flew 18 per cent more passengers than the previous year. In total, 63 new routes were established; 30 in Denmark, 18 in Sweden and 15 new routes in Norway.

    The total number of passengers flown in December 2009 was 815,562 compared to 651,895 last year, an increase of 163,667 passengers (25 %).   • Norwegian to boost its presence in western Norway – six new direct routes from Bergen

    Norwegian is targeting tourism in western Norway and the business market from Bergen by adding an additional aircraft and six new routes from March. The new destinations are Copenhagen, Stockholm, Barcelona, Roma, Chania-Crete and Antalya in Turkey. There will also be more departures to London, as well as to Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia.

    Norwegian is today launching an entirely new frequent flyer program which will benefit both leisure and business travellers in all three Scandinavian countries. The frequent flyer program offers all travellers the possibility to earn CashPoints, up to 10 percent on Full flex tickets.

  • Norwegian sets new passenger record in October

    Norwegian set a new passenger record with 1,049,200 passengers in October. This is an increase of over 200,000 passengers or a 25 percent increase from the same month last year.

  • Capital Increase in Norwegian: Positioning for further growth

    The Board of Directors of Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has resolved to issue up to 1,620,000 new shares, which corresponds to approximately 5 percent of the shares outstanding. The proceeds will strengthen the company's balance sheet and position Norwegian well for future growth opportunities.
