Norwegian reports yet another passenger record
Norwegian reports its best passenger figures ever in June. More than 1.2 million passengers flew with the airline last month. The company had a passenger growth of 25 percent compared to June 2009.
As many as 1,224,958 passengers travelled with Norwegian in June, the highest number of passengers the company has ever reported in a single month. Norwegian also experienced a significant increase in passenger figures in June 2009. The company is very pleased with a 25 percent growth compared to the previous year, considering the fact that a third party strike restricted airline traffic for more than a week in June.
”We’re very satisfied with the passenger figures and that an increasing number of passengers are choosing to fly with Norwegian. We’re also pleased with our improved punctuality, which is up compared to June of last year,” said Bjørn Kjos, Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian.
The load factor was 77 percent in June and the company operated 99.1 percent of its scheduled flights, of which 86 percent departed on time.
