The total number of passengers flown in October 2009 was 1,049,203 compared to 837,891 last year, an increase of 211,312 passengers (25 %). Third quarter revenue up by 15 % to MNOK 2,271.5 (1,971.9). Earnings before depreciation and leasing (EBITDAR) in the third quarter were MNOK 669.5 (321.5) Earnings before depreciation (EBITDA) in the third quarter were MNOK 514.7 (228.5). Net result after tax in third quarter was MNOK 374.8 (414.4). Ancillary revenue pr passenger up 41 % in the third quarter.

Best operating result in Norwegian’s history – acquires an additional six new aircraft from Boeing

Today Norwegian presents the highest operating profit in the history of the company. Earnings before tax (EBT) in Q3 were MNOK 519, an improvement of more than MNOK 326 compared to the same period in 2008. As part of the company's strong expansion, Norwegian has placed an additional order for six new Boeing 737-800, making the accumulated order for leased and purchased aircraft count 70 by 2014.

Norwegian opens eight new routes in Norway, Sweden and Denmark

Norwegian is starting up a series of new routes from Scandinavia to popular holiday destinations in Europe next spring. A new domestic route in Norway is also being established between Bergen and Tromsø from March 2010. All of the new routes will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, 16 October.

From October last year until September this year more than 10 million passengers chose to travel with Norwegian. September was thus the third consecutive month with more than 1 million passengers traveling on the company’s 180 routes, an increase of almost 200 000 passengers or 24 percent compared to September 2008.

Another month with more than 1 million passengers

The total number of passengers flown in August was over 1million, an increase of more than 150000 passengers or 18 per cent compared to August 2008. August is thus the second consecutive month with more than 1 million passengers for Norwegian.

Norwegian to launch a number of new routes from Scandinavia in the winter

Scandinavia’s largest low cost carrier, Norwegian continues to expand and is setting up a number of new routes from Scandinavia in the autumn. Six new routes are being launched from Stockholm and Copenhagen; to Geneva, Salzburg and Barcelona from Copenhagen and to Barcelona, Salzburg and Tenerife from Stockholm. A new route from Trondheim to Las Palmas is being launched from Norway.

The total number of passengers flown in July 2009 was 1,048,684 compared to 900,983 last year, an increase of 147,701 passengers (16 %).
Compared to the same period last year:

The Norwegian group is a leading Nordic aviation company, headquartered at Fornebu outside Oslo, Norway. In 2023, the airline had 3.3 million passengers and a fleet of 48 aircraft, including 45 Bombardier Dash 8’s and three Embraer E190-E2's. Widerøe Ground Handling provides ground handling services at 41 Norwegian airports.
