In May, Norwegian and Boeing announced an agreement in principle for the purchase of 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with options for another 30 aircraft. Today, Norwegian announced that the various closing conditions related to agreement have been met. Following this, Norwegian estimates that it will record a net gain of approximately NOK 2 billion in the second quarter of 2022.
Norwegian's traffic figures for May showed that Norwegian had 1.6 million passengers, an increase of 16 percent compared to the previous month.
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has reached an agreement in principle with Boeing for a recommitment to purchase 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The agreement also includes options for an additional 30 aircraft. The 50 aircraft are due to be delivered between 2025 and 2028, at a schedule closely corresponding to current aircraft lease expirations.
Today, Norwegian reported its first quarter results of 2022. The results in the seasonally weakest quarter of the year were also impacted by the omicron virus and the war in Ukraine, resulting in an operating loss (EBIT) of NOK 849 million.

Norwegian today reported its fourth quarter and preliminary full year results for 2021. Profit before tax (EBT) was NOK 117 million, compared to a loss of NOK 16.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2020 and a profit of NOK 169 million in the third quarter
Norwegian today reported its results for the third quarter of 2021. The figures show continued positive progress following the successful completion in May of the respective reconstruction processes. Passenger demand is returning across all our markets and forward bookings remain strong leading into our summer 2022 season.
Norwegian today reported its second quarter results and published the H1 2021 financial report. The results continued to be impacted by COVID-19 and travel restrictions in all markets. However, following the successful completion of the reconstruction process and the subsequent NOK 6 billion equity raise, the company is now well positioned for future growth.
Norwegian will continue to increase flights between the UK and Ireland to destinations across Scandinavia as the airline releases the summer 2022 flying programme. All flights are now available to book offering a wide range of destinations from London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Dublin.
Norwegian's traffic figures for July shows a continued increase in the number of passengers. Demand is driven by ease in travel restrictions, in addition to a higher level of the population being vaccinated. In July, Norwegian operated 33 aircraft, which is approx. 50 percent more than the previous month.
To meet customer demands for greater flexibility, Norwegian has changed the booking policy for cancellations and changes, allowing customers to cancel with full refund up to 24 hours after purchase.
