Norwegian Group had 2.8 million passengers in June

In June, the Norwegian Group had a total of 2.8 million passengers. Of these, Norwegian recorded 2.4 million passengers, while Widerøe had 404,000. June was a month where both Norwegian and Widerøe delivered growth in capacity and passengers compared to last year.

"I am pleased to see that we manage to increase the numbers of passengers across both airlines in June. We have a solid 8 percent capacity increase in Norwegian, while Widerøe has set a new passenger record, the first month in history with more than 400,000 passengers. While the load factor for Norwegian is a bit lower than expected for June, we are operating several new routes this summer, and are looking forward to a very busy July," said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.

Norwegian's capacity (ASK) was 3,991 million seat kilometres in June, an increase of 8 percent compared with June 2025. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 3,337 million seat kilometres, an increase of 2 percent from the same period last year. In June, Norwegian operated an average of 93 aircraft. The load factor was impacted by the increased production this month and ended at 83.6 percent, down 4.8 percentage points from last year. Regularity, the share of scheduled flights that took place, was 99.3 percent, while punctuality, the share of flights departing within 15 minutes of scheduled time, was 79.4 percent, a decrease of 2.2 percentage points from last year.

"We are preparing for the busiest month of the year and are seeing overall satisfactory demand for beach and city vacations from the Nordic countries. As in recent summer seasons, we are also expecting increasing demand from other European countries for “coolcations” to Nordic destinations. With more than 500 daily flights and very few cancellations, our passengers can be sure to reach their holiday destinations," said Geir Karlsen.

The Widerøe capacity (ASK) was 205 million seat kilometres, a 7 percent increase from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 160 million seat kilometres, an increase of 3 percent from June 2025. The load factor was 78.1 percent, down 3.1 percentage points from last year. Regularity, the share of scheduled flights that took place, was 98.5 percent. Punctuality, the share of flights departing within 15 minutes of scheduled time, was 92.8 percent, an increase of 3.7 percentage points from last year.

Widerøe Ground Handling provides ground handling services at 41 Norwegian airports.
